Noble Team Wins Ad Trivia

Jingles, logos, Pepsi, Super Bowls, television spots, and acronyms - all rounds compiling this year's Ad Trivia competition. A tremendous thank you to our event chairs, Kat Morgan-Gaines and Brett Piper. They put together an exciting and challenging presentation, did an entertaining job of emceeing and all-around FUN evening. . It was so awesome, we've decided the club should "take the show on the road!" Just kidding! But, it was that good! The following teams participated: Clear Channel, Noble, dpi - (Digital, Print, Ink), KSMU/OPTV, St. John's and the News-Leader.

To earn bonus points, teams donated non-perishable items for Ozarks Food Harvest. Enough to fill several large boxes was collected! Plus, extra money during the challenges and final bid for our own public service project, Ozarks Harvesting Hope.

The 6-foot mass of a trophy and all things shiny, traveled to Chesterfield Village to it's new home at Noble! Congratulations to Lindsey Neddenreip - captain, John Scroggins, Nicole Lierheimer, Darcy Cummins, Jessica Schrock, Bill Cover, Tim Hoffman and Jamie Dopp (KY3).

Many thanks to our prize donors!

Club's Public Service Project Wins on National Level

OHH Takes Third for Club Achievement
www.ozarksharvestinghope.com

Each year the American Advertising Federations hosts a club achievement competition highlighting eight areas of emphasis: advertising education, club operations, communications, diversity & multicultural initiatives, government relations, membership, programs and public service. In the past, club's submitted their entries on a district level, then winning entries travel on to a national competition - much like the ADDY awards. This year though, the district level was eliminated and entries were judged only on the national level.

Many thanks to Eric Ray and Kat Morgan-Gaines and to each board member and committee chair for compiling their information. The narratives and corresponding collaterals are placed into binders for judging. It's truly a labor of love for the club achievement chairs!

We're thrilled to let you know the club's public service project won third place in our size division for Ozarks Harvesting Hope! The entire club should be QUITE proud of this achievement! So many people have helped in countless ways to get this initiative off the ground, and growing (pardon the pun). If you are new to the club, OHH is a part of the national Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign, which encourages gardeners to plant extra and then donate that harvest to a local food bank or pantry. If you want to learn more, visit www.ozarksharvestinghope.com.

Sheryl Blakeley is the chairperson for OHH. Please get in touch with her if you are interested in helping with this project: info@ozarksharvestinghope.com.

State Farm© To Sponsor 2010 AAF National Student Advertising Competition

State Farm Insurance is the 2010 sponsor of the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition. NSAC is the industry’s premier student competition, and over its nearly 40-year history, the program has launched the careers of more than 150,000 young professionals. “The AAF is honored to collaborate with State Farm,” said James Edmund Datri, AAF president and CEO. “State Farm will offer students the opportunity to develop a marketing plan for an industry leader, and I am sure State Farm, like our previous sponsors, will be impressed with the students’ creativity and research.” The sponsorship was announced today during the AAF National Conference in Washington, D.C. State Farm insures more cars and homes than any other insurer in the U.S. State Farm's 17,700 agents and 68,000 employees serve more than 81 million auto, fire, life and health policies in the United States and Canada, and more than 1.9 million bank accounts. “State Farm is proud to sponsor this educational opportunity for future advertising professionals and is eager to see the results generated from the students’ work on our case study. Our goal is to encourage creativity among students working on the case and also assist AAF students with career building advice and guidance at their student conference in St. Louis in October. We hope this real-life application of their studies helps all of the students learn more about business and advertising strategies,” said Mark Gibson, State Farm assistant vice president – advertising. AAF college chapter members will receive the State Farm case study this fall. From this, they will develop a 32-page marketing campaign, and they will also create a 20-minute pitch for judges. The district competitions will take place in AAF’s 15 districts in the spring of 2010, and the winners of these district competitions will advance to the NSAC finals, which will be held in conjunction with the AAF National Conference in Orlando, Fla., June 10-12, 2010. Over 150 AAF college chapters are expected to participate in the 2010 competition. In addition to sponsoring the student competition, State Farm will also host the 2009 AAF Student Conference in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 15-16. The Student Conference offers students a variety of professional development workshops and encourages them to meet and network with industry leaders and program alumni.
