ADDYS

The American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standard, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Annually, AAF member clubs bestow this honor upon outstanding members of the local advertising community.

Silver Medal recipients are selected by a panel of judges from each local club. Judges use the following criteria when making selections:

  • Contribution to his/her company - The recipient must have achieved success in one of the following areas of work:
    • advertising agency
    • advertiser
    • media
    • advertising service
  • Creative Ability - The recipient must have shown a consistent, high degree of original thinking in his or her field.
  • Contributions to the General Advancement of Advertising - The recipient must have worked to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession.
  • Contributions to the Community - The recipient should be someone who has been active in civic, religious, or other groups dedicated to human or social welfare.

Local History and Ceremony Information

Each year we look forward to recognizing the area’s best in advertising. With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY® Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. Category examples include print collaterals, photography, logo design, radio, TV, outdoor, web and more.

The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association conducts the ADDY® Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. (The ADDY® Awards are a local to national competition.) It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry. At the ceremony, we are proud to salute a Silver Medalist winner and Ad Professional of the Year, as well as other awards for accomplishments and industry contributions.
